I realize that it can be difficult to sit down with a perfect stranger and tell them intimate details of your life and so it is important for me to tell you that I hold you and your story with the utmost respect and confidentiality. Acceptance of all people is important to me, therefore I welcome people from all ethnic and religious backgrounds, as well as sexual orientations.
You may contact me by phone or email to set up an initial session. You may reach my voicemail if contacting me by phone; just leave a message and I will return you call as quickly as possible. If you would like to use your insurance, I will need specific information to identify your mental health benefits, so that you will know what to expect on your first visit. Another option is for you to contact your health insurance company to acquire this information yourself.
On the first visit, please be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete the initial paperwork. You can also find initial paperwork on my contacts page and complete in advance.
There are both benefits and risks associated with therapy. The benefits include decrease in symptoms, increase in well-being, a sense of wholeness, and feeling more connected to life and to those you love. Risks might include uncomfortable levels of feelings such as sadness, fear, or anger, or changes in relationships with others. I can help support and guide you through these experiences, but ultimately your choices and how you implement what is learned in therapy is up to you.
